Chenay Bay is for travelers who enjoy being around lots of other people, hanging out at a bar which can often get loud with live music, and generally looking for a resort feel.

The resort is located on the east end of the island. It’s a pretty good beach for snorkeling and renting kayaks, stand up paddle boarding and other water sports and activities. It has a grassy bottom close to shore; this makes a nice environment for starfish, conch and sea turtles but may not please everyone looking for sandy-bottom only beach.
You’ll find some good snorkeling on the right side of the bay. On the beach, you’ll find plenty of shade. Family-wise, this is a nice beach for young children because the water is shallow and calm. There is also a children’s playset to keep the little ones entertained.
Water conditions at Chenay Bay vary by season and wind direction. Visitors often compare it with other options on the island, which are covered in this guide to the best beaches in St. Croix.
